Maxus Sets Up Shop in Dublin
The international media buying and planning agency Maxus has opened up a Dublin office. Maxus is part of the WPP-owned Group M which already includes Mindshare, Mediacom and mediaedge:cia.
Maxus has global billings in the order of $3 billion a year and has been rapidly expanding its international footprint over the last few years. It now has 40 offices worldwide and around 1,000 staff. In the US it boasts clients such as UPS, Fiat, Panera and the American Natural Gas Alliance.
Apart from competing head-to-head with the other Group M companies Maxus is also used to "warehouse" competing clients of other Group M agencies while at the same time giving them access to the buying power that Group M has in the marketplace.
It is understood that the new office will operate from the same building as DDFH&B and Mindshare in Dublin. Over the next few months the company intends to ramp up its profile and hire new staff. The Dublin office is already handling Fiat following a successful pitch by Maxus HQ to handle all the motor manufacturer's global business.
