IIBBDO, Chemistry & Young Euro Bag Epica Awards
Chemistry, Irish International BBDO and Young Euro RSCG were the only Irish winners at this year's EPICA advertising awards.
Irish International won a silver in the film category for its Guinness "fridge magnet" campaign while Young Euro RSCG also bagged a silver in the film category for its "Apple, Apple, Apple" & "Pearapy" ads which were produced for Bulmers Pear cider.
In the radio advertising category, Chemistry picked up a bronze for its eircom 11811 "the numbers detectives" campaign.
This year's EPICA awards attracted 3,196 entries from 476 different ad agencies in 48 countries. The awards are judged by the marketing and advertising press from a number of different European countries. Irish Marketing Journal (IMJ) represents Ireland on the judging panel. The award ceremony will be held in Belgrade on January 22nd 2010.
Germany topped EPICA's country rankings for the fifth year in a row with 18 winners while the German agency Serviceplan Gruppe was the most successful entrant with a total of 12 awards, including 3 winners. Euro RSCG was the most successful agency network with 7 winners from 4 countries.
The film Epica d'Or was won by Saatchi & Saatchi in London for the T-Mobile "Dance" commercial which was shot in Liverpool Street station in London. The press Epica d'Or was won by DDB&Co in Istanbul for its Dank second hand furniture campaign while the outdoor Epica d'Or for outdoor went to Euro RSCG in Dusseldorf for its Citroen "Cornering Lights" poster.
