IAPI Advertising Effectiveness Awards 2008

The Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) Effectiveness Awards, in association with the Irish Times, were held last month at a gala night in the RDS. The big winner of the night was Irish International BBDO, who not only walked away with the Grand Prix for its Donegal Catch Nets Spectacular Profit campaign, but also won five awards including two golds in the FMCG and Long Term categories, and two silvers in the Alcohol Beverages category for campaigns with Carlsberg and Guinness.

Cawley Nea\TBWA and DDFH&B won three awards each on the night. Cawley Nea\TBWA's Power of One campaign earned two golds and its 'Eurosaver - Hold Me Now' campaign won silver in the FMCG category, while DDFH&B took silver and bronze in the Leisure, Media and Entertainment category for its National Lottery Millonare Raffle and 'Fáilte Ireland - Right Here, Right Now' campaigns respectively, as well as another bronze for the National Lottery in the New Launch category.

Sponsors of the awards included the Irish Times, RTÉ Television, Clear Channel Outdoor, Diageo, Irish Daily Mail, Sales Online, IMJ, IRS and Kinetic.
