Spirit Radio Plans to Widen its Geographical Reach

Spirit Radio has launched a campaign to increase its reach to a further seven towns around Ireland.  The station already broadcasts into 17 towns around the country.  The new towns, it hopes to serve soon, are Drogheda, Navan, Clonmel, Portlaoise, Mullingar, Killarney and Letterkenny.

According to research carried out by Amarach Research, Spirit Radio’s weekly listenership stands at 540,000. Over 55% of listeners are in the 25-44 age band and 66% are working full time.

The campaign was launched at a business leaders breakfast this week.  The Spirit Radio expansion campaign needs €70,000 to expand its reach and hopes to do this through increased advertising and donations.

According to  Rob Clarke, managing director, Spirit Radio: “We are very anxious to expand our reach and listenership. We know we deliver excellent value for money for our advertisers and are delighted that we have some big name advertisers including Virgin Media, Lufthansa, Calor Gas, Tipperary Water, to name but a few.  We also have many smaller advertisers who have supported us from the outset and can testify to the success of their campaigns. We have an excellent demographic which can be an important part of any broadcasting advertising campaign.”

The station is an independent, not for profit organisation and is not owned by any church, religious organisation or business corporation.
