Jimmy Murphy Takes Over as New IAPI President

Pictured is Jimmy Murphy, newly appointed President of IAPI (Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland) and Director at Publicis Dublin, as he unveils his futureproof plans for the advertising industry and the theme for the 2018 ADFX Awards.

Jimmy Murphy of Publicis Dublin has taken over as the new President of IAPI. Murphy is one of several changes to the board. Other directors joining him include Fiona Field, deputy managing director of Mediaworks, Charlotte Baker, deputy managing director of Dynamo and John Matthews, finance director of In the Company of Huskies.

The appointment of Fiona Field and Charlotte Baker to the board brings the female members to a total of five out of eleven , a figure which is extremely positive when reflecting on results from the 2017 IAPI census which revealed that only 28% of board posts are held by women.

According to IAPI, “Jimmy Murphy has invigorating ideas for the advertising industry which will look to transform how brands and clients, even the most cynical senior management at boardroom level, view advertising and its worth and how to effectively measure the effectiveness of advertising to futureproof the industry.”

IAPI has also announced that “Everyday Effectiveness” will be the theme of ADFX 2018 which will be held in September.  Entries for ADFX 2018 are now open and entries can be submitted online at http://adfx.ie/registration-form.html.

The closing date for entries is April 6.
