Irish International Rebrands as BBDO Dublin

One of Ireland’s top creative agencies, Irish International BBDO is rebranding as BBDO Dublin.

The re-brand follows the recent appointment of Neal Davies as the agency’s new CEO.  Davies replaces Ian Young who is stepping down after 23 years to take on the role as executive chairman.

Davies has over 27 years of marketing experience as a client, an agency practitioner and most recently as CEO of Effie Worldwide, the global client/agency industry body that recognizes and awards effectiveness in marketing communications.

Neal Davies, CEO of BBDO DublinAccording to Davies, “Irish International is one of the most recognized names in Irish advertising, with a long-standing reputation and a stellar creative heritage. However, in some ways, that rich legacy has overshadowed our current work in new, more nimble areas such as shopper marketing, social media and advanced technological platforms.  Adopting the BBDO Dublin name change represents a fresh start, a fresh approach and a rededication to BBDO’s mantra of ‘The Work. The Work. The Work.’ The change will not only change the way that we look, but will significantly enhance our standing in an Irish and international context.”

Founded in 1891, BBDO is a global network of creatively-driven advertising agencies made up of 15,000 people in 289 agencies across 81 countries worldwide.  For the past 11 years, BBDO has been ranked the most awarded creative agency network in the world in The Gunn Report and for the past three years, it has also been ranked the mot most awarded network in digital advertising.  BBDO has also been named Network of the Year at Cannes a record six times.

“For over 50 years, we have been best known for producing outstanding brand campaigns in traditional media, but we want to show how our creative solutions – led by Dylan Cotter, our Executive Creative Director – in everything from shopper marketing to social media, are also delivering effectively for our client’s businesses.  We are equally proud of our developments in areas such as the recruitment of Enda Conway as our Head of Social, the continued success of our Shopper Marketing offering, BBDO Shop, under the leadership of Sinead Lee, and our recent successes at the Kinsale Sharks, all of which demonstrate our continued commitment to delivering smart, agile and integrated solutions on behalf of our clients,” says Davies

“Being a fully active member of the BBDO global network affords us access to a network of resources and expertise, planning tools and data driven computer insights which further enhance our client offering on a daily basis,” he adds.

“The newly named BBDO Dublin has an enviable track record as one of Ireland’s leading creative agencies.  With an experienced, passionate and hands-on senior leadership team, BBDO Dublin gives us an extremely strong network presence, in a market that’s becoming an increasingly important European hub for us,” says St John Walshe, Managing Director, BBDO Europe.
