RTÉ Rolls Out Eurovision Hub for Dedicated Fans

eurovision_playerLittlewoods Ireland, Ireland’s leading online department store, announces its new sponsorship of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest coverage on RTÉ this May. Littlewoods Ireland will partner with RTÉ to bring Eurovision lovers across Ireland live coverage of the  final tomorrow.

With Eurovision fever set peak over the weekend, the RTÉ Player has created an online hub for fans of the annual songfest with a wide range of content from the archives that includes all of Ireland’s memorable moments, going back several decades.

The collection features the famous Riverdance opening, Jedward, Niamh Kavanagh, Dustin, Brian Kennedy, Niamh Kavanagh as well as Nicky Byrne’s singing Ireland’s entry, Sunlight.

One of the biggest nights of the year for RTÉ, the station has also named Littlewoods Ireland as its sponsor of both the semi-finals and final tomorrow night.

With an investment of €40,000, the sponsorship will include opening mentions for Littlewoods Ireland leading into the TV coverage for the two semi-final shows and the live final on RTÉ One. The sponsorship will also see adverts for Littlewoods Ireland on RTÉ player for those catching up on the contest online, radio mentions from the live broadcast across 2FM and promotion across RTÉ’s social channels.

More and more we are seeing an increase in the online discussion around the Eurovision and as a digital business we believe we can add to the conversation – taking it to a new level for 2016.”

This fully integrated campaign will begin for Littlewoods Ireland online on the 25th of April with digital content, competitions, banner adverts and email alerts. Activity with RTÉ will kick off across TV radio and RTÉ player from the 10th of May until the 14th May.

The creative agency involved in the campaign was DDFH&B with the above-the-line campaign planned and booked by Carat. The digital campaign was planned and executed by Wolfgang Digital.
