Radio Industry Turns Out in Force for Love Radio Awards

Raygun take the Love Radio Awards 2016 Grand Prix Ad of the Year for their hard hitting ISPCC spot.

A Who’s Who of the Irish commercial radio and advertising industry turned up for the annual Love Radio Awards which were held in the Mansion House last week.

A total of 330 guests showed up to see MC for the night, Deirdre O’Kane, preside over the awards which are now the highlight of the commercial radio sector in Ireland.

Creative agencies that walked away with Gold awards on the night included Irish International, Atomic, Publicis Dublin, Chemistry and Boys and Girls. Media agencies who scored big on the night include Carat, which bagged two golds and OMD.

The Radio Ad of the Year went to Dublin studio Raygun for its ISPCC ChildLine Radio while Irish International picked up the Creative Agency of the Year Award.

This year’s Creative Radio Organisation award, meanwhile, went to Media Central which also picked up the Sales Team of the Year (National) while iRadio picked up the Sales Team of the Year (Regional) award.

A new category in this year’s Awards – Client of the Year: The Radio Lover – saw UTV Radio Solutions and CityJet take the top accolade.

Elsewhere the award for the Best Collaboration Between Radio Station & Agency saw RTÉ and PR firm, The Reputations Agency win the gold for its innovative promotion of the Wild Atlantic Way.

This year’s Louise Jesson Award to an individual who has made a measurable contribution to the commercial radio industry in Ireland saw radio entrepreneur Des Whelan of WLR FM pick up the award.

The partners to this year’s Awards were RTÉ Media Sales – Radio, UTV Radio Solutions, CommunicorpOne, Media Central, Classic Hits 4FM and Number Four Windmill Lane.
